ABOUT US
The Peace and Hope Trust is a UK based charity with a Christian ethos. The Trust has been working amongst the poor communities of Nicaragua for over two decades, endeavouring to make a positive difference in peoples lives.
This mission was bourne out of a long term vision of Squadron Leader Michael Cole, OBE, to reach those who were not served by others.
In 1995, Mike led a team of British volunteers accross Nicaragua in a hovercraft, over the rapids of the Rio San Juan, seeking to discover a permanent solution to a communication problem which has challenged Nicaragua for centuries.
This was the catalyst for the growth of the Peace and Hope Trust.
Since then, many volunteers have caught the same vision to help a country that is regularly affected by natural disasters, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and landslides, and remains one of the neediest in the world.
